Aeok, the burning land, is the side of the planet that exists in perpetual daylight. Temperatures here range from 70 + degrees, moving to lethal levels of heat anywhere within 500 miles of what was once the guild of mages. Aeok's weather is often dry, cooking sunlight. Clouds do exist here, but only close to The Belt. Sand and dust storms are common, and plant life exists primarily in large patches over what were once oceans.
The primary plant life of Aeok is a thorny vine called vitathorn. These bramble-esque plants can grow to be taller than trees, and often create dense forests. The spines of the vitathorn have been known to grow to be the size of a horse, and are made of a hard substance that is sometimes used for crafting low quality weapons and armor. The vitathorn gets its name from its tendancy to grow in the pits of what was once the ocean. These dry seabeds are now veritable forests of thorny vines and cacti, which grow high enough to be on level with the tops of the craters they grow in. Some pits have been recorded to be over a mile deep. The only water in Aeok is at the bottom of the deeper pits, or stored in the hollow center of the vitathorn. Often in the deeper pits, you may find normal trees and grass as you would in a temperate zone, as they are protected from constant sunlight by the overhead canopy of thorns.
On the higher and dryer grounds of Aeok, little plant life exists. Sparse cacti and small shrubs may be found, but they are rare. The ground is nothing but dirt and rocks, and cover is a rare thing to find. Predators roam these open fields from time to time, looking for an easy meal. Ruins of ancient cities litter the fields for those who live long enough to find them, and are often brimming with ancient artifacts and priceless, lost technology.

Highlands: The highlands are the barren wastelands of Aeok. Not much lives here beyond the natural predators, and small animals that are often in hiding. The heat in the highlands is intense, and the dirt is cracked and constantly parched. It does rain on rare occasions here, which is how life still exists, but it is not uncommon for areas of the highlands not to get rain for over a year.
The Tangle: The tangle was once a large ocean, but now plants have taken over. The constant sunlight of Aeok evaporated much of the oceans, leaving fertile soil for plants to grow. Vitathorn grew in first, covering the ocean entirely. Over time, the lower portion of the vitathron was eaten away by small animals and insects, leaving an overhead canopy. With this new shade, many other plants were able to grow in, and grow in thick. Now the tangle is a dense jungle. No known villages exist, because the vegetation here grows too fast to keep at bay.
Sun Ring: The sun ring is known as the end of the world for most, as it marks the spot where the sun of Aoek becomes too hot for most creatures to stand. This is the furthest explored region of Aeok, but even then it remains mostly uncharted. The sun is intense here, and if you pass into the ring without protection you risk being lit aflame by the sun itself. The land here is mostly dry and arid sand.
Theoduun: The lost capital of the world, the home of the mages who stopped the cycle of day and night. Nobody has seen it in over a thousand years, and most assume there is nothing left of the great city but ruins. The sun of Aeok has long since turned the realm of Theoduun to ashes.
