The Belt is the main strip of habitable land on Ecliptico. Due to its positioning around the middle of the planet, it is in a constant state of dawn/dusk. Weather patterns here are random, as the city is subject to weather being blown in from both sides of the planet. Typically a moderate temperature of 60-80 degrees fahrenheit, The Belt is subject to rain, snow sleet, hail, sandstorms, dust clouds and heat waves at any given time.
The city itself consists of a two giant walls that protect the citizens from the hazardous weather and monsters from either side of the world. The upper, or yellow wall as it's called protects against the harsh sunlight of Aeok and is high enough to keep all but the most stubborn of flying creatures at bay. This wall is usually guarded by patrols at all times. The lower wall, or the black wall, guards the city from the cold winds and carnivorous plant-life of Guohash. This wall is not often guarded, as creatures from Guohash do not like the light of the city and stay away on their own. Sometimes crews are sent along the walls to burn away any creeping vines or other things that get too close.
Inside the belt is what one might expect from a city that spanned an entire planet. The belt is marginally wide, perhaps a hundred miles or so. The poorer families live near the walls where they are more likely to be subjected to the elements and any rogue creatures that happen to get in. The rich typically live in the center of the belt, their mansions often surrounded by gardens of exotic plants, or small bodies of water. periodically placed throughout the belt are massive castles that span the entire width of the belt. These castles are well guarded and walled off, and serve as barracks for the soldiers. They also serve as a blockade should one section of the wall ever fail, the people can be evacuated into the castle until repairs are finished.
The city is cluttered and crowded in most areas, houses being built many stories high to make up for the limited space. As a result, the nastier parts of the Belt are like a wilderness in their own respect. The slums are like a rat maze to navigate, and are full of brigands and thieves. These slums are usually located around the castle walls and outer edges of the Belt, as the government does not have enough manpower to enforce all of the laws and tends to only take action if the wealthier residents are threatened.
Stores are common, though if you wish to get anything of good quality it may take some searching. Most gear for the adventuring sort is hard to find, since few are crazy enough to venture outside the walls.
Still, for those who wish, there are ways out of the city. Guarded doorways through the wall do exist. Also, for those wishing to explore the Catacombs of Guohash, there are tunnels beneath the city that link up with them. These tunnels are well guarded at all times due to the dangerous nature of the catacombs.

The Rat's Warren: This is the local label for the slums of The Belt. Named for their grimy appearance and maze-like layout, the slums are home to numerous bandits and thieves. Travel here is dangerous for the common folk, but those who appear well armed can sometimes walk through without trouble.
Noble Gardens: This is the classy area of the city, which runs down the center of The Belt. This area is home to luxurious mansions and sprawling gardens. Some portions of the gardens are made up of smaller village-like areas of housing for the upper middle class. Fine dining, quality clothing stores and red light districts are common in this portion of the city. Outsiders are usually not welcome into the private gardens, which are often guarded
The Sajhari Districts: The Belt encompasses the entirety of the planet, so obviously it's going to pass over some waterways. On top of these large lakes and rivers are built the sajhari, floating buildings supported by rafts and connected by rope-bridge walkways. The sajhari serve as housing and marketing areas for the middle-class citizens of The Belt. Some sajhari are left barren and may have tables and benches bolted down to their surface, and these serve as public park areas. If you're looking for anything, the best place to look is in a sajhari flotilla. The shops here are diverse and usually of good quality, and these areas are often the safest areas inside The Belt. The walls of the belt are sometimes stopped by the water ways, but magical barriers have been erected to span the gaps and stop any unwanted creatures from entering.
The Buckle: This large stretch of ocean is considered the center-point of The Belt. While not converted into a sajhari district, the water is still home to a fair amount of sailing boats. The shores of the Buckle are giant port areas bustling with commerce. The ocean is held in place by giant dams built long ago. This stops the water from flowing down into the empty basin in Aeok, or pouring into the frozen wintercape of Guohash. The walls of the belt extend only to the edges of the port city, and from there magical barriers span the ocean water to prevent the foul weather and creatures from entering the city. The ports of the Buckle are home to the greatest concentration of military force, both soldiers and wizards... both for keeping peace and maintaining the wall in this particularly vulnerable sector.
