Starting a role play in Stillworld is very easy, just follow these few short steps. Everyone is welcome to start threads, we only ask that you don't do anything earth-shattering without moderator approval, as this is a continuity role play.
1. Select which character you wish to play. Each player is allowed to have three characters at any given time, but only one may be active in each thread.
2. Start a Thread, include a title and who the roleplay is open to. If there is no indication of who the roleplay is open to, it is assumed to be open to everyone.
3. Start your post with these details. Your character name and power level, so other players may locate your character profile. The minimum post requirements, often measured in lines of text. Finally list the range of character power levels you want to allow in your role play. By default, a good range is +-.5 meaning if your character's PL is 5.0 you want the range to be 4.5-5.5 This assures that everyone will be challenged equally, and nobody will feel left out.
4. Post your initial action and whereabouts. It's important in the first post to do three things. 1: Set up a location. 2: Describe your character's current actions. and 3: Make the thread appealing by adding a plot or conflict.
Steps one and two may be listed in OOC along with your post if you do not wish to integrate them into your character's actions.
5. Remain at least moderately active in your thread. As the original poster, people will likely be looking to you whenever the plot needs to move forward. Without you, other players will find it hard to progress.
That's it. Pretty simple stuff.
