Xavier turned on the bandit as he attempted to flee, paw raised in preparation. Upon seeing the girl, however, he was forced to hold his magic back, flames whirling around his paw angrily. The bandit hid behind her like a shield, using the poor girl as a hostage to protect himself from the trio of assailants. His sword was held menacingly up to her throat, the chipped blade merely an inch from her skin. Xavier simply dropped his paw, knowing full well that his magic was too wild and unreliable to hit a target at that range without injuring the girl. "Nobody move or the girl dies!" The bandit yelled, holding his sword a little closer to reinforce his point. The other bandit stood frozen in place, sword her up defensively as he looked slowly from person to person. Seeing them apparently distracted, he started edging for the side of the Sajhari, trying to get to the safety of the water and escape while he had a chance. The sage saw him moving and turned his head in that direction, gritting his teeth. He could easily stop that one, but there was no telling if that would upset the one holding the girl captive. If he killed her, he was as good as dead... but Xavier couldn't risk him being too stupid to understand that concept. "Put her down, idiot." He growled. "You're trapped. You might as well surrender peacefully, and maybe I won't break every bone in your body when I catch you."

Complying, to a degree, Amun dropped his staff with a slight snarl at the bandits threat and lowered his hands to his sides. This was a feint however as the fingers of his left hand began to twirl about slowly. He didn't care much for the bandit trying to escape nor too much on the one holding the girl and merely focused on the her. Taking note of the blade precariously close to her throat and the arm around her it would have to be a particularly powerful blast to break her free. Finally when he was sure the thug wasn't directly looking at him Amun flung his palm towards the girl, eyeing the space directly under her feet. Within the blink of an eye a vortex sprung up beneath the girl and propelled her high into the air. The bandit had little time to react as the sudden gust of wind was so strong to force the girl out of his arm and a dumbfounded look was upon his face as the tables were suddenly turned.
Trusting the others to take care of the bandits he turned his gaze to the girl still hovering in the air and carefully landed her near his side. With a kind tone he looked to the girl and asked, "Are you alright?"

Snowy's eyes widened as she let out a scream when she felt herself sailing up into the air. What was THAT?! Oh no, was she going to die? She felt fear flitting through her heart as she expected to come crashing back to the floor and covered her eyes. As a few moments passed without impact though, she uncovered her eyes and looked down.
Oh wow! She was floating! Her eyes darted back and forth, wondering what was going on and trying to find out.... then she started floating towards one of the anthromorphs. She let out a sigh of relief as her feet touched the floor and wrapped her arms around who she supposed must have been her savior, hugging him around the waist tightly. She held on fora few more moments before pulling away and beginning to sign frantically.
*Thank you so much kind sir. I am forever in your debt,* she signed with a smile.
She looked at his expression for a moment before realizing he probably couldn't understand sign language and pulled her backpack off shakily and fishing out her note-book and pen, writing on the notebook.
'Thank you sir! You are so kind. How can I ever repay you?' she wrote.
